Nashville Predators General Manager David Poile announced today that University of North Dakota senior forward Cole Smith has signed a one-year, two-way contract for the 2020-21 season. The Fighting Hawks’ alternate captain posted a career-high 11 goals this season and finishes his senior campaign with 51 total points. The 25-year-old forward has found success on the NCHC regular-season champion Fighting Hawks on special teams as well as at even strength. Smith has been a teammate of 2017 Predators draft pick Grant Mismash for the last three years as well.
